How is the treatment done?

The treatment is extremely comfortable and you remain fully clothed as you sit upon the Emsella™ chair. You will experience a tingling sensation in your pelvic floor. This is the feeling of your pelvic floor muscles contracting during the treatment.

How long does it take to see results?

A series of 6 treatments is needed to start, but results also improve as you continue your treatments and typically continue to improve over the next few weeks!

Why do the procedure/benefits?

The pelvic floor consists of an intricate group of muscles, tendons and connective tissue and has two main roles: to support our internal organs and to maintain the control of our urine and feces. Throughout the years, this extremely important yet often-ignored structure experiences normal wear and tear but is severely stressed during pregnancy and childbirth leading to one of the most commonly encountered problems for both women and men: Urinary Incontinence, a condition where one loses ability to control their urine. In fact, over 33 million Americans suffer from some type of urinary incontinence. Although this is a very common condition, it is not a normal part of aging and can be treated with great results.

How long is recovery? What does it look like? (Bruising, swelling, etc.)

There is no downtime. Right after the treatment you can resume daily activities without any issues!

How often do you have to follow up/maintenance?

Each patient is different and we will set a treatment plan for you upon your Emsella™ consultation. A typical treatment takes about 30 minutes and it is recommended that you will need about 6 sessions, scheduled twice a week.
